In order to trace these templates I used variations of clicking, dragging, and the use of ctrl/alt to make simple and complex lines. This is practice for the pen tool, which I need to become familiar with.

To make the custom logo for my can I used a logo making website. “Vinbero” is a word in the Esperanto language that translates to “grape,” so I thought it would be an appropriate name for my grape flavored soda. I used the same water droplet texture from the “Homerun Rootbeer” can as I liked how it added a nice touch. I originally wanted to make the can blue, but the purple is a typical color for grape flavored things so I wanted to include it.

In order to make this soda can I had to make the label on a separate window. I used pictures of a baseball player logo, nutrition facts, a bar code, and water droplets and added them onto the window where I make the label. I used the Text tool and Layer Styles to get the text I wanted. After positioning all of these in place, I positioned the can and added a background.

First, I made the shape of the clock and the frame. Then I added the numbers all around it. After adding the numbers I put the gray dashes around the perimeter of the clock. Finally I inserted all of the arrows and made a timeline to animate them.

To make this animation I used pictures of a rocket, flames, and I typed the words out. I used a timelapse window to be able to create some sort of slideshow that shows the animation. The first frame had a rocket and the number 3, then all of the numbers appear one by one until the word “launch” is visible. After launch appears the flame does, and then the rocket elevates until it’s off of the screen.

I layered different layers and textures to make text appear like 3D wood pieces. Lots of effects were used to make the finished outcome more believable, such as shadows and many alterations to the layers. I used a picture of a tree, made it black, and then adjusted it to make it look like a shadow. At the end I used a gradient to add lighting.

First, I cropped the photo so it would look more like a square panel. I used the spot healing brush to rid myself of blemishes before adding borders, effects, and text to make this photo seem like it came out of a comic book. I made two separate boxes, on on top and one on the bottom, to use as captions. The drop shadow effect was used to make the first letters of the words pop out.

Summary;

Before anything I flipped the canvas that the rooster was on so it would face the right direction. I had to extract the rooster’s head from its body using the magnetic lasso tool, and then I positioned it on the horse’s body where I thought it looked best. I had to get rid of the parts of the horse’s head that were showing using the clone stamp tool. I used the eraser tool at a low opacity to blend the rooster’s feathers into the horse’s sleek neck fur. I tried to make the longer uppermost feathers act as a mane and, in my opinion, it worked decently.

I used text, photos, and made changers to layers to get this outcome; seemingly shiny text.
